ChristmaMug Ru& CuCozSwap!!

As of this initial posting, Christmas Day is 90 days away!!  So let’s gather together and make something fun to have as you will soon start decorating, buying and wrapping gifts and just making some jolly time with family and friends!!

Let's make a Christmas Themed Mug Rug & Cup Cozy for a secret pal.

Your Mug Rug should be washable, with suggested average size of 6” X 8” to no larger than 8" x 10".  Any shape of your choice…rectangle, square, round, etc.  Made with quilt shop quality cotton only.  Labels are not required, but it’s always a nice memory.

Your Cup Cozy should also be washable, with suggested size to hold a 12-16 oz size mug.  Here are a few links I located with free DYI Cup Cozy patterns: Stitchwerx Designs Cozy Cup,  Skip To My Lou Coffee Sleeve Tutorial, Favequilts Coffee Cozy, Melly Sews Coffee Cozy, Santa Belt Cup Cozy, Reversible Coffe Cup Sleeve.  If you come across a free Cup Cozy pattern made with quilting cotton or flannel (no knitted or crocheted cup cozies for this swap), please share with us, thanks!    Make sure your Cup Cozy is Christmas themed and if you would like, you can embellish it with ribbons, buttons, lace….it’s up to you to decide how much fun you want to have making both the Mug Rug and Cup Cozy!!

Please use quilt shop quality Christmas themed cotton or flannel fabrics or TOT’s for both the Mug Rug and Cup Cozy.

Wool applique is allowed for both the Mug Rug and Cup Cozy as long as it’s stitched down.  If fusible is used, all raw edges MUST be covered with a satin stitch.  Embroidery designs are welcomed as well.

This is a DIRECT MAIL Swap, meaning you must be a member in good standing (not in briar patch), that has been active for at least 3 months and have completed at least 2 swaps. Be sure you have read and signed the GUIDELINES.

Post below your intent to join and send a PM to GloBug/Gloria with your swapping information to include:

~ QATW Member name and your real full name

~ Email address ~ Mailing address ~ Phone number

~ Let me know if you're willing to swap internationally.

Sign ups close on October 9th and I will PM you with the name/address of your secret pal on October 10th.

Mail By Dates:

~ International mail by date is Wednesday, November 6th

~ U.S. mail by date is  Wednesday, November 13th

Please make weekly check-in posts, they are required for all QATW swaps.

Please post WEEKLY check-in's, this is a QATW swapping agreement.  Check-in post must be done weekly throughout the swapping period, this way I know you are still around and kicking.  It's suggested that you select one day of the week to post your weekly check-in.  Most chose a Saturday or Sunday, but use whichever day you feel you can be responsible to post, thanks!

Hubby is out of town on a business trip and I didn't sleep well.  I don't normally get up at 4:30. LOL   So excited I can help you build your swap experience with QATW.

I’m considering it, but I’m a bit swap-shy after having to back out of my last one because of a scary medical situation with Sara. Not sure my life is compatible, however a mug rug and cozy might just about be doable! I’ll let you know in a couple of days!

Lynda, we could do these at the retreat! T
