Trying two new recipes out tonight.  Butter chicken and keto naan bread.  The chicken is seasoned and in the fridge, I need to read up on the bread recipe and see how soon I need to make it.

nan bread was disgusting!  but the family enjoyed the butter chicken. :)

Sadly I went off course eating things I shouldn't, and have the consequences of that choice.  Today I am cooking some turkey thighs and later tonight I will cook some chicken legs.

This week we start our adult classes at the school, so I will get a little exercise added into my routine :)

After doing my BEST at the retreat, I came home to a number that made me sad.  :(   I've not eaten well for 4 days but today I am back on plan.   I just have to go back to what I used to eat and stay away from the 'treats' that claim to be low carb.. I just don't think they are.

less than 3 weeks until the retreat and I will eat off plan there so I REALLY need to work hard on steps and low carb.   As chelle says,  We CAN do this!!!

I am not sure how, but this morning when I got on the scale after avoiding it for a couple of month, I have lost 20 lbs.  I am trying to increase my steps and will be swimming a great deal starting next month after the guests leave.  Hubby got my bike out so I can start riding again.  The foot still acts up after walking awhile, so not getting nearly the steps as before.

My sewing machine is calling me and today I hope to listen! Sally

That is terrific Sally. That is the great thing about a plant based (or mostly plant based) lifestyle. The body sheds excess weight with ease even when we aren't totally adherent. And it heals in amazing ways.

I was shocked after attending the Memphis retreat I came back weighing just 3 pounds more than when I left.  I weighed today and those 3 pounds are gone.  I am very happy.  I have been having trouble getting in much protein since I came home I just have not been in the mood to cook.  I have been so tired from babysitting.  These 12 hour days 5-6 days a week are killing me.

after 3 weeks of ups and downs..  I am proud to say I weighed in at 154.2 yesterday and I've not weighed this weight in 5 years.   My stats show me still in the overweight catagory but with losing 5 more pounds I will be at 'standard' for the BMI chart.

After speaking with Candis and doing some online research it seems that ATKINS snacks are NOT keto friendly and are the reason I got knocked out ketosis twice.

Again, I'm doing what I can but know in less than 2 weeks hubby and I will be in gatlinburg eating OFF plan.

Keto works for me.

I have been trying to stick to an eating plan, but it hasn't been very successful.  I've been having some stomach issues and am trying to deal with those. Charlie and I are headed to Disney in less than 2 weeks, so, while I am maintaining my weight,(didn't gain any while at the retreat!) I am not going to stress about eating until we get back.  There is just no point.  I want to be able to enjoy myself while there and I will be getting in major steps to help counteract the food.

Once I get back however, I (and hubby, though he doesn't know it yet) will be going back to the very successful plan I was on before.  very low carbs in the plan, but it does include fruit.  I lost 20 lbs on it before and hope to do so again.  I only gained them back because I went back to old eating habits.

On a happy note, I went to the orthopedic doctor and got a cortisone shot in the base of my thumb to help counteract the arthritis and it was successful.  Bonus was that the inflamation in my feet is also gone!

The way to get started is to quit talking and start doing.

great news from dr's visit!!!!

Glad you are going back to that better way of eating when you return and agree 100% with the fact you shouldn't try while you're on vacation.   It's a vacation so that means it's also a break from how you eat at home.   I'll take one more scoop on that cone!!

We have been eating whatever we want, but I have 5 weeks until my birthday and 10 weeks until DH's birthday party. Time to see what I can do with a 5 week deadline and then if I can get down to my goal weight before Tn friends get here.  I need to plan meals and start exercising more.  I got this!

Barb, what an interesting and intriguing site.  I'll be watching.  Just curious.
