I say #3 is the lie. I find the other two believeable.

No 3. TRUE. Dotty and I used to go to FanFare in Nashville every year for a week. When we met Blake and his first wife — Blake had his long hair. His wife was as sweet as she could be and told us that all the big country singers said he was going to do well as he had a great voice. We took pics and every time we would go near Blake would yell at us to get over there and talk to him and her when she was there. He always had a story and a name for us when he’d yell - the Port - land Mizz - ooori girls. So when we found out he was marrying Maranda we were kind of sad. 🙃

No. 2. FBI phone call. TRUE. Rep Britt, my boss, was hosting 7 very wealthy top political men and 1 woman from India. Little did we know right after their plane landed the Twin Towers would be hit. This created major change for everyone. Long story short - Rep Britt and I are to meet them at the train station a few blocks from the Capitol in Jefferson City. Well, I thought they should get off the train and meet small town life. Rep Britt agreed and I worked this out with their host and a major tour of Hermann. They got off the train at Hermann according to the new schedule where I had plenty of man help to take care of luggage, etc. Hermann totally welcomed them and the guests were so astonished there were no people. So lots of pics of empty sidewalks! They loved Stone Hill Winery. They loved the tour of a friends previous B&B that was now more like a museum. Fast forward we drove to Jefferson City and did the normal JC tours and Capitol tour even let them take pics on House and Senate Floor. Made special plans with Medical Doctor from India to host them with true India food for dinner. Congressman Roy Blunt had a bus arrive to pick the group up 2 days later to take them to Springfield. Rep Britt and I escorted them to the bus and waved them off. He heads back to the office and that’s when I show up and he’s on the phone. The FBI were calling to ask where the delegates were. They had lost them! They then found the new schedule and apologized and slight humor was expressed on both ends of the phone. I thought he was joking. He was not and I bet the Honorable P Britt has never forgot this story - yep he’s a Judge now.

No. 1. False. Although all was true with the exception of ME being in the show - there was a ski show in our present cove but it was our neighbors who are now in their 80’s who performed the free and more exciting show 50 years ago! I loved to ski, trick ski, shoe ski, ride the saucer and surfboard - but never attempted the 8 man pyramid - probably because we didn’t have enough motor!

Dorian - YOU are next.

Wow RuthAnn, you told that lie very convincingly ;)

1) I was practicing for tryouts for the 1988 olympics in gymnastics, when I broke my ankle and had to give up that dream.

2) I don't wear any makeup or nail polish.

3) I grind grain for making my breads, pancakes and other goodies.

I'm still arriving late, but that's okay. I love reading the stories anyway.

Just for the heck of it, I'll guess #2 along with Leslie. I haven't seen a photo of you, but I'm picturing you with neatly styled hair, full makeup and polished nails. 😃

1) I was practicing for tryouts for the 1988 olympics in gymnastics, when I broke my ankle and had to give up that dream. This is a lie. It was my sister Catie who was the gymnast. C and I are 14 months apart in age, we both took gymnastics when we were little, but Catie excelled at it. She was so beautiful, I loved watching her. She was a practicing to go to the olympic tryouts, her coach thought she had a good chance of making it. She had a bad ankle and was supposed to keep it bandaged while working out. One day she didn't, and she landed on it wrong, breaking it. And there went her dream :(

2) I don't wear any makeup or nail polish. LOL Nancy!! Picture a brown going to gray haired, plump, pinked cheeked, no make-up, short nailed mountain gal, and you've got me ;)

3) I grind grain for making my breads, pancakes and other goodies. GG, I buy 50lb sacks of Spelt wheat grain about every 3 months and grind it for my breads/etc. I make both a regular wheat bread with yeast, and a sourdough wheat bread. We also use it for pancakes, cookies, cakes, etc :)

Dorian, I really enjoyed learning some new facts about you!!  I'm so sorry your sister Catie broke her ankle, I fully understand the training/time commitments to reaching a level in gymnastics that you could try out for the Olympic level.

Okay, here are my 2 truths and 1 lie:

1.  When my husband was a Men's International Gymnastic Judge, I once traveled with him to the 1992 Summer Olympic Games held in Barcelona, Spain.

2.  In high school, I once held the 3200 Meter Track record for 2 years straight.

3.  Although we did attend the same high school, I officially met my husband when I was 16 years old at Disneyland.

I think 3 is probably true, but I'll call dibs on it just the same.
