Home from taking a daughter to college and visiting my new grandbaby. Ready to start on September!

My #8 is Bonnie Hunter's Tumelo Trails. This is how far it got last year when I pulled it out for the UFO challenge:

We'll see how far I get this time around!

My September UFO is finished! OK - it was my August UFO too. Will give it to my co-worker tomorrow. Hope she likes it. 13 x 38.

Marian, that is SEW lovely.  I've seen pics you've posted before, but it's really pretty all finished.  Your co-worker is going to love it!

I have not even pulled the 2.5" squares out for the project yet.

My sewing area is a mess with piles everywhere, but then thats how our whole house looks right now with all the music equiptment and sound barrier panels.

Hey! I actually put two patches together! Sigh.  I'm pretty sure I have some partials floating around but I don't know where they are.

I got the background fabrics cut today. Now doing the tedious job of picking out the basting threads and removing the templates Lucy Boston blocks.

Sharon did you decide on sashing?  I was thinking a think white sashing might be nice.. not sure for outer borders.

love that color combo Verla

Spent a couple of hours on my 30s row project.. slow and steady but I can see growth.

GG, thank you..I think I had pretty much decided on white sashing, but feel I need a color border, actually have thought about red.  Just seems like it needs a fun border, maybe even multiple fabrics joined together.

I decided pieced sashing was best and it's taking longer but it's also reducing my 'smaller' pieces of 30s.  I hope to have the top have connected soon.   Jace will come over today so sewing / cutting will only be in spurts when grandpa takes him outside.

edit - 10:36 and Jace still isn't here so I got lots of cleaning and 30 minutes of sewing.    Now to rot my brain a bit and play a video game with hubby

As much as I would  like to work on my giraffe, Ihave to get #9 and 10 finished for my guild's quilt bingo in November.  So 9 & 10 for me this month.

The way to get started is to quit talking and start doing.

I have been working on my #8 all afternoon. It is coming together nicely. I will quilt it in three sections since it will be queen size! Sorry about the sideways photo. I don't know why it does that. It was right side up in my browser!

Nice work LaDawn!

I have my '8' into a TOP, it'll be a wall hangin in my guest room.   Looking for something to back it with now.

EDIT: washed, pieced, pressed backing and then pin basted this top. woohoo

As soon as I make another row, I can make a 2nd one of these.     It was getting too too long so I decided to make 2 quilts from it.   The 30s prints make me happy!

I'm finally going to get to my Farm Girl Vintage (UFO for Sept).  I'm going to  pull my Kona white and cut sashing for it.  My BBB blocks are  finished and now I can work on it.  It'll be fun to get it into a top and see how it looks.  These are such cute blocks.

GG, your row wall hanging is adorable.  You made your border like I think I might do on my FGV.  I can see why 30s prints make you happy.
