In purging the storage shed, I found several started quilt tops I had been missing. I am working on a wild batik too now, what was I thinking when I bought those fabrics lol

Made myself a set of pool noodles a couple of days ago. I just love how easy to get everything to lie flat and all without  taping and clamps. just a little bit of tape on the bottom to get started.  Pin basted in a very short time. I have it half quilted already.

Great idea, Bonita.  That would probably work for spray basting as well.  Pretty quilt in the making :)

That’s what I use too Bonita! Works great and don’t have to get on the floor.

Got my Bar Code top (think it has another name but it reminds me of bar codes) backing made and sandwiched and pressed.  Hope that by weekend/first of week it is quilted and finished.  Will post when finished.  This will be for GD #4.  Irish Chain is for GD #3

Do you use a long table for it?

I use the long counter top that devides the kitchen from the living area. It's about 3 feet wide and 8 or 9 feet long.

I do not know when the last time was that I posted in this thread.  I cut out a quilt tonight so I can start sewing it together tomorrow.  Planning a mini retreat so I can get this commission quilt done.  It will be a queen size when finished.  I will post pictures as I go.  It should go together quickly since it is kind of a big block quilt.

My sewing machine is calling me and today I hope to listen! Sally

Bonita, I do the same process but with boards instead of pool noodles.  I am thinking the pool noodles would be much lighter and I would be able to break them down when I am storing it.  Thanks for the idea!!!

I finished up the batik UFO I found last weekend, it will be a picnic quilt for a wedding gift.  Not sure what I was thinking when I picked those colors!

I love those colors, Monalee. That quilt would liven up any picnic.

I was all set to check the hardware across the street for foam noodles to use hangers for organization. When I went to check the hanagers I spied the pant empty pant hangers. I spent the next while sorting the the little projects and then hanging them. A new idea that was inspired by the subject at hand. I push the whole bunch as one behind the wall when storing them. It is so much easier than rustling through piles looking for a certain item.

The sewing gods were in my favor. I got my featherweight and can’t wait to play. On the road now but hopefully can unbox her tonight.
