Well today, I have been listing fabrics on line. Trying to purge some I don’t think I will use. I went crazy buying fabric for OBWs.
I am working on a OBW today too. Trying to straighten out my sewing and fabric area some. Funny, then UPS came to my door with 2 big boxes weighing 20 some lbs each. Hmmm, I didn’t order anything. My Aunt in Law had sent me fabric from her stash she was purging! What a surprise. All the way from a Florida.

While I so appreciate her kindness and her cost. I’m trying to get rid of fabric too. headbutt headbutt But I was gracious and it was so sweet of her to think of me. And go to the trouble and expense. It will be going to the local goodwill though. Most is not cotton . Bless her heart! A fun day anyway!

I made a couple doll quilts for my great nieces, as part of their Christmas presents. Which we celebrate late, thank goodness or they wouldn’t have gotten them. I had hoped to finish by the end of the year, so I could say I had a finish in 2017. Didn’t make it:(

It made me clean my space, so now I can go inand work when I have a few minutes. I worked on a drawing for a wool appliqué design. I’ve had it in my head for sometime now and finally got it put onto paper. Hopefully it looks right once stitched up.

I have a 3 day week end and I have dedicated January to just work on what I want to work on. Just a little this and that - catch up on blocks, make some HST from my scraps. Fun stuff.

Becasue I am working hard to get back to one project in the final stages of layering, quilting and binding and no more than two piecing projects at a time I managed to get a few things out of the bins and on to a useful purpose.

I purchased these Bali Handprint snowflake blocks a couple of years ago to incorpoarate with an embroidery project. Exasperating past hand injuries with new moved the hand embroidery right out of my life. Speaking with my grandson recently he told me he would find places for new quilts. The snowflake quilt will be one that will be sent to him.

I am also back to the mindset that hobbies must be pleasant and not a drudgery so Flash ended up totally different than Jann's design. Besides finishing piecing a small lap quilt with the same design as the runners I have completed two of the three runners for the shelves in the china hutch.

My evening work remains counted cross stitch. The current work will be framed but all new projects will be combined with quilting.

Agnes, the Snowflake quilt is lovely.  Grandson will love it.  And the runner you made from Jann's MQ pattern looks great.  Nice colors.

I finished and mailed my blocks for the I Spy swap, so now I'm back to finishing units for the Bonnie Hunter mystery, steps 6 & 7. I will then pack all the units into zip locks to take to the Branson retreat in early March. It might take me that whole week to put the blocks, rows, and border together.

Day off work...so took advantage to organize sewing zone...

1. Made list of UFO's

2. Did math to find backing fabrics for UFO's...or at least know how much I need to purchase

3. Listed item on TP...

4. All while doing "household chores"

So my New Years Resolution was to quilt at least one of my finished tops every month.  Here is the one for January.  The gathering.

Alternating between cleaning up bedroom and bath with finding UFO's and fabrics that I want to work on this year.  It was a real chore digging out the UFO's and respective fabrics since I seem to have fabric in every closet in every bedroom plus the basement sewing room.  Laid everything out in the guest room.  Going to rest awhile and then finish cleaning/vacumming up the bedroom.   Then I'll check to see if I have found everything.  I know I still have fabric to find for some of the UFO's.  I also know I will have to order some fabric for several of the UFO's.  In one case, the quilt became a UFO because I messed up several of the blocks and didn't have enough fabric to redo.

So pretty, Florence! Love the border fabric.

Getting ready to work on the crazy quilt blocks today. First took time to take the DGDs to see Ferdinand, cute movie.

Florence, what a bright, cheery, pretty quilt!  It makes me smile and wherever it is used it will bring a ray of sunshine and beautiful color.
