Bonnie has just posted the introduction for this year's mystery quilt...it's called On Ringo Lake. You can find it at Quiltville.blogspot.com.

https://quiltville.blogspot.com/2017/10/on-ringo-lake-quiltville-mystery.html

I'm so excited! Who is doing the mystery this year?

Happy Quilting.

Was just going to share this with everyone.  On Ringo Lake looks to be softer in colors than Bonnie's usually all over brights.   The quilt finishes at 75 x 90.  Here's a direct line to the post.   I've started to look into my stash already....   Hope to buy more at retreat in TN. I'm joining for sure, Missie.

Well I still have the fabric in the bag from last years quilt But that isn't going to stop me from going to buy the fabric for this years quilt!

I really like the colors and hopefully this year I will maybe try harder to work along with her...

I like the colors on this one too.  Might have to try this one...

The way to get started is to quit talking and start doing.

I love those colors. In fact I've made four quilts recently with Aqua/turquoise, Browns, and neutrals one was queen size and I think I have zero Browns left. I do have a few aquas but think it'll be a good excuse to go shopping. First I want to get those paint chips at Lowes. I do appreciate that she does that. I bought fabrics for the last mystery but quickly realized I didn't like it so quit.

I'm a sucker for her mysteries, I think I've done the last 6 ??

I like her colors but I have this weird thing that makes me always want to rebel and choose my "own" colors. So I'll be browsing my stash looking for inspiration to strike.

I was thinking that very thing Mimi. Turquoise and the corals. I don't have many of those in my stash.

Pretty colors for this one. I've never done Bonnie Hunter, but I do love a good mystery, so maybe this is the year...

...but what? I need to buy two more rulers?! Ugh.

I bet you have some kind of ruler that will work. I think they are for cutting triangles for HST's. I've never used any special rulers for any of her mysteries

I never use her rulers.  She gives alternative ways in the clues.  Just no with Acuquilt.

Wondering if there is enough interest to do a FQ swap of her colors?  If interested, please post here as we need to get started right away.

So would you all like a FQ swap to get more diversity/variety in your fabrics?

No you just do your half square and quarter square triangles your preferred method. She gives alternate ways.

If I didn't get any new fabrics for this one, I'd still have enough diversity in my stash already.  I'm just finding excuses to buy more fabric...  So no, this quilter is not interested but maybe others will be.

I've never done a mystery quilt so I think it's about time. Sounds like fun!

I'm very happy to hear from the Mystery veterans that I can make the quilt without needing to buy the special rulers. Thanks for the info!

I read through the intro and the colors she selected are very pretty.  Being a hopeless stashaholic, I have all the fabric colors needed if I decide to start this mystery.

Fabric requirements:

     Aqua to Turquoise:  4-1/2 yards

Warm Brown to Chocolate:  3 yards

     Melon to Coral:  3-1/4 yards

     Light Cream Neutrals:  5-1/4 yards

Finished Quilt Size:  75" x 90"

Although Bonnie mentions using 2 speciality rulers, she also adds that she'll provide regular rotary cutting sizes and traditional methods, so you do not need to purchase these rulers.

She also mentions that she will not give us any shapes or sizes for AccuQuilt dies as they reveal too much ahead of time.  She thanks us for understanding.  With that said, I'll certainly try to figure out how to use my Accuquilt dies as they are a major timesaver with the cutting.

I'm not a Mystery Quilter. I prove that every time I try to break the mold. The color combinations speak to me so I shall follow and download the directions as they are released. There's no guarantee I'll ever get beyond that.
