Need a Christmas quilt and short on time, fabric and/or money???  For two Forever stamps and two blocks, you could have the blocks you need.

Here is the deal:
We are having a Block Lotto produced by You.  All you have to do is:
 1) Sign-up for the lotto here and send a Personal Message (PM) with your Personal Information (PI) (name, mailing & email address, phone number) to jcorsbie before October 10;

2)Complete two blocks as described in the following link; one with white background and one with green background, as shown;  www.diaryofaquilter.com/...uilt-block-tutorial.html

Everyone: We want to keep the blocks as much in the same look as the picture.  So please use true Christmas reds and greens.  Everyone should make one of each of the different backgrounds (one green and one white or white with red.  We will keep the trunk just like the sample: brown.

and,

3) Bag and tag and send to jcorsbie (address provided in PM) on or before October 30.  Drawing will be held on Sunday, November 5, in chat at 8PM EST and mailed to the winner on November 8.

How is that deal for about $1?   Pretty darn sweet.

Oh, by the way, you can stack the deck in your favor by sending in extras in multiples of 2 -- up to a total of 6 blocks and 6 stamps.  This would get you 3 chances.  And, for every 25 blocks, we will have a winner.

So who is the first to sign-up?

So the fabrics can have other colors just be predominately white or green?

I think we want to keep it to red, green & white mostly.  I would say a very itty bitty tiny bits of other colors would be ok.

So are these the smaller ones 3 3/4" x 5" that your link connects to. Because she also mentions a larger block that finishes 7 " x 9" .Just asking before I decide because of fabric stash available to me.

Yes, we are using the measurements as shown for a cute little mini quilt you can display for the holidays!

I'm in! Maybe I'll get lucky for a change.

Say, can we specify true Christmas green as pictured? It would be disappointing to receive an olive-drab tree. I'm also noticing that all the red prints are 50% white. That seems to keep the overall look light and bright.

Are those trunks dark brown or black?

Fun lotto idea, Jann!

I made a set of test blocks this morning.  I was only able to size them to 3 3/4 by 4 1/2.

Mine may have come out that way as I made sure I had a little bit more of that 1/4 inch at the top.

You may want to cut your  trunk segment pieces 2 inches instead of 1 1/2.  (2 side pieces 2x2 1/2 and trunk 1 x 2)
