Are you ready for a new month and a new project?

I'm not, but the new month is here and it's time to at least pull out my UFO for this month and at least dream fondly of the day I will have lots of time to work on it!

The number I drew for this month is Number 8

Will you be joining me working on number 8? or do you have another ufo/project you'll be pulling out this month?

For those ambitious ones of you who aren't having trouble finding time to sew in the summer

the bonus number is 27

Tell us what your plans are for this month, inquiring minds want to know.....

I plan to work on my number 8, scenic snowmen.  It's currently a top.  I may actually set up my new machine to work on it.

Well, the only positive thing I can think to say about my #8 is that at least it won't use up all the rest of my basting pins. Most of my pins are still safely in my July sandwich that I didn't manage to get quilted. My #8 is a (strip) Feathers lap quilt. I'll try to corral the pieces I have done and get a photo posted soon.

I will also work on a lap quilt I started for a friend, whose birthday was last month! If I may say so, I shot myself in the foot with that project. Because I have trouble with knowing which way to press seams, especially in a disappearing 4 patch, I pressed open. Welllll, I guess I should have used smaller stitches, because I am going to have to handstitch places where the seams at some edges have come apart. Another "education" quilt for me.

Chelle, your scenic snowman top is really cute. It looks like a very cheerful project.

My #8 is Bonnie Hunter's Grand Illusion.  Globug and I took this to the Lancaster area retreat last summer, but only Glo worked on hers.  Mine stayed snug in its box.  Gonna go find it and take a picture so you all can view my non-progress.  Lots to accomplish this month so I'm not sure how much I'll be able to work on this but I'll certainly try.

Edit: Here's my box with all the pieces but no blocks.  Going to start tonight.

Well, sigh, I am going to try again again on the Aqua Chevrons....

I am a little ambivalent about the teacher quilt, I can't seem to interest DGS in that project..... Also wanting to work on the cat quilt, so for right now, just aqua chevrons, with hopes high..

I have to switch gears this month.   The wedding quilts are back from the long-armer, so I'm switching over to them for 'Phase 2'.   Will go back and tackle my #1, the C&B wedding quilt first.   First thing is to find where I put the fabric for the binding.      Below is a picture of the quilt before the quilting was done.

The photo on the left is the receipant's HS grad picture...

My No. 8 is my postage stamp quilt, it was part of a swap on another group, I seem to remember Jacy taking part on this one, and yes another EPP.

Lots of love

My number 8 is Cowboy Boot Quilt.  Trying to remember what I was going to do with this.  But, I will continue with #3, Katie & Kevin's quilt, and will pull out these cowboy boots.  I have it on my list 3 different ways.  I do have a couple of wall hanging tops - Maybe some baby quilts??   I will remember!  I will also continue to use Grand Illusion as leader/ender.  Finished step 3, need to but step 4.  This will be coming to retreat with me in November to become a top!!

My #8 is Drew's quilt.  I really should work on it. Today my PMDD is acting up and I really wish I could send the kids to Grandma's for a few hours.

I'm further along than this, but here's the only photo I have of Drew's:

This is my #8. Rainbow Scrappy Flowers.  Will only do 4 flowers and add borders.  Guess that's why they are called UFO's lost interest.  Started February 2015 so it's not super old.

I'm in again.  #8 is an Irish Chain flimsy that needs quilting and binding.  I'm substituting #28 instead of #27 since I didn't finish it last month.  I'm having trouble uploading pics right now so will post one later.

My number 8 is the bright modern block of the month we did here. I will at least get the last two blocks done. Here it is with the first 6 months blocks.

And I'll continue working on the cowboy boots quilt. Here is the latest photo, but i've quilted all but two of the square sections now. I also have two rows of boots to quilt, one for the top and one for the bottom. I'm thinking of doing more of the stars for sashing instead of just a plain sashing. And figuring out exactly what I want in their center block.

Hi Mimi.  When I saw your picture of Bonnie Hunter's Grand Illusion units on the Home Page, I had to track down what you said about it.  Hmmm . . . I know you're now ahead of me with this UFO because I haven't started working on the green/white/black patch units yet.  The last time I touched this UFO was at the Amish/Lancaster retreat, so it's time for me to dig it up and try to keep up with you, lol!!  You keep working on it and I'll do the same!

Hugs, Globug

My #8 won't get done, but hopefully this push will keep me stitching on it....I have fabric for the blocks and about half of the hand embroidery design is transfered.....

My #27 has been sitting here for a.g.e.s!! Time to decided if I want more blocks or make a quilt with what I have...It's a scrappy Trip.

Sounds like a challenge has been made.   Lovin' it!! Don't feel like you're behind Glo because after I took all the pieces out of the box, I realized that I didn't make the 280 pieces for Clue 1. Although I do have 140.  Maybe I'll half the size...But I've got a long way to go before I'll be making blocks. Bet you'll finish before I do.  Now to find all those pesky fabrics I used...

I will be getting # 4 6 ½” lattice quilt and #11 Irish quilt back from the longarmer tomorrow – so I will finish the binding on both this month. But my main work will be on #12 motorcycle panel quilt for my son’s Christmas present.  It’s just a panel right now- have to look for inspiration for designing the rest of it. Busy..busy…
