Gorgeous fabric Candis. I’m hung up on mine. It’s on the wall but not really speaking to me.

Is there a place to get directions or a book to start from?  I have never done one before they look fun!

Brenda start here on utube. https://youtu.be/AXEv1exf-qg It is Jackie O’Brien. She will take you through the whole process. There are one Block Wonder books. I am a visual person so the Video helped me the most. Also on Facebook there is a group called One Block Wonders. It has so many tutorials and super informative people. It’s a great resource. The videos of Jackie’s are the best. She belongs also to the face book group. Beware,,, they are very addicting. The fabric I sold you, makes a heck of a OBW too.

That fabric is beautiful, Candis!  You're right, the colors are so vivid.  Is there some metallic in it?

She does a great job in the videos, much easier than the book. I made mine from horse fabric, dil made one from oriental fabric that was beautiful! I have those bright flowers I bought from you long ago Candis, that will be the next one I try. I think it’s orange and yellow flowers, but it’s at my house so will put it on the pickup next trip list.

This is the fabric I used. My original idea was to group the hexies around a center part of the fabric. That didn't work to my satisfaction. So now I've taken everything down and will group the pieces in some way. I want to use plain hexies around the outside in a meandering way and then applique some of the whales so they look like they are jumping into the plain area. I wanted to use a deep blue but realize the whales wouldn't show up. I need to go back to simply picking a pattern and following it instead of trying to be creative.

I remember that panel now! Oh please! You can’t stop that creative part you have. Your to good at it. I love your ideas. If anyone can make that work it’s you.

I do find ,for me anyway, panels are more of a challenge. I have several that are in different phases. I get frustrated with them and in a drawer they go. I really enjoy just beautiful fabric all cut up, then designing my own collage.

Come on Brenda. I double dog dare you!  I'll continue to struggle with my whale OBW if you get started with your OBW project.

I will TRY to post progress, maybe as early as Sunday. A

I finally came up with a layout I like. Still a work in progress. I want to use solid or tone on tone blue as the outer hex's and maybe use them to create an uneven layout. Much tweaking left to do but at least I'm encouraged to finish it.
