Judy, that is such a beautiful OBW.  I enlarged the pic on my screen so I could see some of the wildlife...gorgeous.

Glo, I love seeing your picture.  Now I know who to look for at the airport!  I'll have to find a picture of me that I like and change my avatar.  I hate having my picture taken.  Getting my new haircut on the 31st.  Will get one then.

Candis or Judy, How many sets of 8 strips do you cut into triangles?  All that you can get out of the panels?  I have 9 strip sets, and get 17 or 18 triangle sets out of each strip set.  That gives me roughly 160 blocks???  Is that too many?  If I added some triangle sets from a second fabric, would that be too many ?

Slight edit to my post above...I have strip sets of 6 strips not 8 - I cut up 6 panels

FORGIVE ME>>>  I have got to start all over on this post and the one that follows.  So sorry.  I am cutting triangles and I do not have 9 sets of 6 strips, I actually have 6 sets with 18 triangles in each...giving me 108 blocks.  That sounds more reasonable.  So now, is this too many?  What about cutting up a second fabric, if I can find 6 repeats?

No it is not to many. And yes if you can find 6 repeats of your other fabric. Cut it too. Options are great. You can make your quilt as big or as little as you want to. Even if you don’t use them all. You can use in other projects. So perfect, cut away!

Thank you, sew much, Candis!  I stopped cutting after I posted but have two more strips of the panel fabric to cut and will likely have 3 or 4 strips of the other fabric.  I'll do more cutting tomorrow.  OK, I will get  few blocks out of a second fabric and will go from there.  I will bring all my triangles and I DO thank you for your offer of your help and guidance.  I still have one more of the original panel to build to.

Judy, Donna, and Nancy, you should recognize this. I finished it at the Leavenworth retreat in 2011.

Oh, Wow!, Wendy, I love this.  I had to look at it for a while and finally see the OBW blocks.

Judy, that patriotic print is perfect for a OBW.

I love seeing all your OBW. They are all gorgeous.

Heh Judy. Did you post your OBWs on the Facebook site yet? It’s very cool. They are having a show! Check it out.

Wendy, so impressed. It's gorgeous. You were also working with the Serendipity feature in EQ at the time to construct an amazing quilt top.

I think I already posted it but I'll check. Just got back from several days with friends at a resort and very little WiFi connection, so have been out of the loop.

They made 10,000 members. So everyone posts their OBWs in one big show for a day. No comments allowed just a fashion show of OBWs. And the like buttons, so many I haven’t seen. Beautiful!

Candis. I just took a few minutes to cruise through the Facebook OBW page. So many gorgeous quilts and hopefully will see something that will help me continue on with my too dark patriotic OBW. I did buy some fabric to make some light blocks but it just hasn't spoken to me yet.

Wish I was on FB.  Not.  So I just look at what I can find here and on Pinterest.
