I finally made the leap and bought a fitbit! I am hoping it will help get me - really want to work on the steps per day. I would use my phone but I don't always have it on my person so I would "lose" steps.

I was reading the info and it said to wear on your dominate wrist - is this what you do or wear it on your watch arm? (my dominate hand is my right but I wear a watch on my left) I don't know how long it would take to relearn looking at my right hand for time

Thanks,

Tracy

Yes, wear it on your left hand. It has a clock too, so you won't need your watch.  Happy stepping!  I hurt my hip so I haven't been getting many steps in.  Add me to your list, and you'll always beat me. It will make you feel good!  lol

Some fitbits have a clock feature but some don't.   I think these are great to help us see how active or inactive we are.  Add me too     I wear mine on my left wrist.

I wear mine on the left as well! I used to try for 10000 steps but have got lazy and try for 8000 now! Yesterday I was only at 3000 because I longarmed all day! Whoops!! Now, that alive finished my friend's custom quilt - I can start on my Ugly Green! Need it finished this month for May Finish! So, probably not many steps today either!

I wear mine on my left (non dom hand), I just need to keep an eye on it when its almost out of battery.  No idea how many times I didnt get steps recorded because it was dead LOL.  I have my goal set to 6500, pretty low but its what works for me.  Plus I dont hit that and say ok no more walking lol

As long as I'm breathin', there's no bad days.~ Alabama

My fitbit won't sync with the computer...it always just says that sync has been scheduled but it never does it.  Really I am still using it, not I did last summer.  I won't be getting another one because this is my 3rd one.  This time I got the HR, and have had nothing but problems with it not syncing.  Worked great for a couple of months, and now it just won't sync anymore.

I bought mine at Best Buy with a warranty. They are excellent about returns. I hand it to them and they don't even ask what the issue is. They have me pick up a replacement and walk out. I admitted that I'd washed my first one but they didn't need a reason for replacement. I have the one that goes onto my sneaker ties. I dislike watches and bracelets so this works great for me.

I've had 3 models and not had any problems with any of them.  I'm not saying they are perfect but they've been great for me.   I hook up to my phone app and haven't ever had any problem with data.

If there was a problem, it'd be that I don't move enough.      I love love love my latest model.. it's the latest HR and it now allows for BAND changes.    It also gives me my Steps, Date & time at a glance just by me turning my wrist towards my face.   No tapping, all 3 pieces of info on the same screen.

I went to Amazon and got about 10 bands for 15.00 and have all kinds of colors.     Most of the time I get crazy and put half blue & the other half of the band green or pink.   It's all FUN.

As I always say, fitbit doesn't make you walk, it only reports what you have done.  YOU take that information and self motivate or ignore it.   You know what a Farmer's tan or golfer's tan is ???   I have one serious fitbit tan.  LOL

You can add me too - quiltertess.  I am actually on my 4th fitbit - my charge fell apart on me and I got the Alta HR - must be the same one GG has.  I also bought new bands for it.

The way to get started is to quit talking and start doing.

I have a Fitbit charge HR.  I had problems with it syncing with my phone had to uninstall off my phone and reinstall.  Google for help.

I've just gone back to wearing mine.  I fine the band is too hot and it gets uncomfortable.  I've decided not to wear it at night.  I know how lousy I sleep.  lol

Just be mindful that the wrist ones may give you added steps for arm movements, or take away steps if u don't move your arm your wearing it on. I used to wear mine all the time, I would rock in a chair in evening and it would add steps. Hmmm, so I bought the one that I could clip on my waistband, or shoe lace or anywhere. It's a Fitbit too.

Add me, too! I have the FitBit One. I like it, it goes in my pocket. I think it would drive me crazy on my wrist. This is my second one. My first quit syncing with my computer after I'd had it almost 2 years. And it had been washed a couple of times. (The one problem with it in my pocket!) It still worked but I missed being able to do the extra computer stuff like keep track of food and water intake, and challenges with friends!

I have fibromyalgia, so I only average about 3000 steps a day and feel great if I can get 5000!

I have the one that clips on my waistband which I love, not keen to have straps on my wrist so this works well for me.

Lots of love

I bought my first fitbit on ebay.  The band wasn't one you could change, and the rubber started to split inside the band.  I did a chat online with fitbit and they asked where I got it and when. Checked my amazon purchases and found the information.  It still had 2 weeks left of warranty and they sent me a new one, I didn't even have to pay shipping.  So keep your purchase info. They were really good about exchanging it.

When I first got my fitbit I found my 'average' steps were about 3,000 each day.   Now my steps are nearly 10,000.   That doesn't happen easily.. I have to get up- and move and the reason is to ADD Steps.  Again, this is ME wanting more steps.. fitbit only tracks the data.

I love watching my friends get steps too.   Am a bit sad when I see their numbers drop but I don't want to bug them.   Maybe a CHEER every once in a while to help them move more.

p.s.  I also know that on GOOD sewing days, my steps were back down to 3,000.   Sewing and stepping didn't go together very well.

hugs,  gg

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it still doesn't sync.  I've gone through all of the help menus and tried all of the suggestions, but still not syncing.  Now, I'm just manually inputting my steps each hour.  I'll get it figured out one of these days.  It worked when I first got it, but probably one of my phone updates has gone awry.

I love my FB, wear it on my non dominate arm (right) being left handed. I aim for 10,000 but don't always make it. I don't wear mine to bed as this gives my arm a rest and I'm not worried by how many times I roll over or have restless sleep as .I know I don't sleep well. Def get more steps during Summer months when out doors more than in the cooler months for me.

After not syncing since the 7th of April, my Charge HR decided to sync twice today.  OMG, it's a minor miracle.  Of course that doesn't mean it will keep syncing, before April 7th, it hadn't synced since March 15th.  But my screen (on my phone) looks completely different now so maybe when I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, it upgraded itself and has decided to work.
