   Are you ready ?

Ready for a UFO to be a UFO no more???

February's number is # 5

or a project of your choice from your list posted on THIS thread

Have time for more than one project? if you need help choosing one the bonus number is #20

The details:

Must have a list posted on official 2017 ufo challenge thread. You can join in anytime you have posted a list.

We want to see your starting photo.

Also a photo of your Finish or progress by March 1st

If you have any problems posting photos you can email them: jackie0432 at gmail dot com

No need to check in daily but it is more fun for all if there is chatter and photos of your progress as the month progresses. Curious minds want to know how old is your UFO?, how long have you had that kit?, are you making this for someone in particular?

At the end of the month I will draw for prizes.

Your name will be entered once for

* working on # 5  project on your posted UFO list

* posting a begining photo and then a progress photo

* a finish, quilted and binded, not just a top!

So you can have you your name in the drawing up to 3 times.

So ready.....set.....GO!!!!!!

#5 Table Topper/Wall Hanging. This will be the center and I have bunches more HSTs to put in there somewhere.  This block is 24" square.

#20 Easy Peasy Placemats.  This is a kit I have had a couple of years.  Nothing done yet.

#5 is Asian Shadows from a swap here at QATW.  #20 is one of 4 cloth books that have been around "forever".  They are now in the line-up of UFOs and WIPs.

Here is my #20, QOV Quilt #2.  Right now it is just a panel, but I guess this month it will become a quilt!

Fancy Forest beginning photo.  This is #20.  I need to purchase background fabric.

Well, okay, the second photo is #5 Storybook Farm by McKenna Ryan.  All the pieces are fused.  They need to be stitched down, made into a top and quilted.

And here is my #5, Prickly Pear.  I'm glad this number came up, because I really wanted to get this one quilted.  Oh, and that's my other dog, Bailey.  She is the one who is antagonized continuously by Miss Kaylee.

Karla, is Prickly Pear a Judy Niemeyer pattern?  Your QOV will be impressive.  Will you treat that as a whole cloth quilt - simply sandwich it and quilt it?

Yes, Prickly Pear is a Judy Niemeyer, the first quilt-sized Judy Niemeyer I have made.  I've made two of her table toppers, but I have several more patterns and the papers for a couple.

No. although the panel is pretty good sized, I will add to it before I quilt and bind it.  I actually have 3 of these panels, so eventually will make 3 quilts to donate to our Veteran's House or the American Legion or the VFW, or maybe give to some of my veteran relatives.

Karla - LOVE the QOV panel - that will be beautiful.  Does Sonny get to lay claim to it?

The Prickly Pear is awesome also.  You are going great guns!

Marge, Sonny already has his QOV, I don't know if he'll get another, although this panel is really awesome.

Mimi - your Christmas blocks are beautiful! Can't wait to see the finished product.

Woot Woot! Excited to work on my #5 which is 6 ½” diamond quilt / whimsical. The fabric is from a 6 ½” square swap we had at my local quilt guild. It will be a throw. Half of the top is complete and more blocks. This will be fun to do.

Today, I have been working on my Bright Modern BOM, putting the sashing together.  I've actually put two rows together.  Maybe I can get that finished tonight and get #5, Prickly Pear, loaded on the frame.  I might have to buy some fabric before I can work on #20, the QOV, darn anyhow.

My project for February is Criss Cross (#18).  I will also continue working on my Irish Chain which I hope to finish this week.  Will post pics tomorrow (camera is charging right now).

Oh wow, look at all those beautiful projects. They look way more fun than my UFO's

I have been busy emptying out a most disgusting house that the tenant just moved out of. 17 years of junk and trash left behind, many belongings and furniture were left too, an awful fridge still with lots of food. 2 heavy smokers with many little critters, It looks like the place was never cleaned. I have been hauling out so much trash, I don't even want to think about cleaning...maybe we could just buldoze it???

Sorry about my whining, I will be looking forward to seeing your beautiful projects each day while we deal with this house. And hopefully get it done quickly so I can get to my UFO's.

Well, since I totally failed in Jan, I'm going to basically start over with the same UFO pick for Feb (I'm going to pretend that Jan never happened!).   It's #1 from my list:  the C&B Wedding Quilt.   It'll be 'Phase 1' which is getting the backing complete and the whole thing prepped (ie: ironed and thread-checked) to hand over to someone else to do the long-arm quilting.   The top is a completed True Lovers Knot pattern.   I don't think I mentioned previously that the reason for the zebra print is because they were married at the zoo.   I'll post the same picture here......
