Ok the second group of pictures I am using a crock pot because I don’t want the wool to move around much.
I make sure the water is good and hot then add the wool.
Let it get wet before dropping colors onto it, I used 3 different colors. I just drip the colors out of the caps onto the wool and I don’t stir . Let it simmer for about an hour.

Leslie, that is so interesting and informative.  Thanks again.  I have a crock pot that was goodwill bound, but now I know what I want to do with it.

I think that I saved most of them last year. There a few missing because the quilt stores dropped out. Lots of real cute ones. Thanks for the reminder, Toni Ann.

I don't know if any of you Woolies are doing the Primitive Gatherings summer BOW but I have to share as I'm totally delighted with my progress so far.  The blocks are 10 finished.  I'm really enjoying getting to do more hand embroidery on these beauties.  They are wool on flannel.

My heart is fed with needle and thread.

Beautiful work, Mimi!  Are you doing beadwork in the center of those flowers also?

No, there are no beads, just Colonial knots.  A lot like French knots but easier to do.  There are bullion stitches around the centers and a stitch I've never done before, Cretan stitch, that makes the diamond-like areas.  Here's a close up, a little too shiney but they are knots not beads.

My heart is fed with needle and thread.

Thanks for the closeup Mimi - sure looked like beads from a distance.  Love the thread and stitching.  Going to be a gorgeous quilt.
