So funny,  I looked at the top of this post and you list here Dorr Woolen Mill.  It is in my hometown, and I recently have been going there.  What a variety of great wool products.  I have been using them as is, just making sure they are 100% wool and have had no problems, but I see everyone talking about felting them.  Should I be doing that before sewing them?  Just starting out in wool.  I love it so far.

Lucky you!! Yes Tango, you should felt it first. They also sell felted wool there too. I love buying their yardage, it costs less and felting is an easy process. You can wash several times in washer in hot water, and dry on high heat. I like to boil mine on the stove top. Then dry on high heat. Either way, it will shrink up, and then have no fraying. Great to Applique with. Glad your getting into wool.

Hi Candis . . . Thanks for the words of wisdom.  I did research the bundle I bought and it is prewashed, so I am okay.  Guess I have a new thing to pay attention to :)

So,  I know I have a lot of wool, and most of it is from the thrift store, but I had to check out the goodwill here because DH said it was more my style than his (meaning no electronics).  I walked out with a cream blazer and a funky green blazer.  i don't know if the green one is 100 wool a there wasn't a tag.

I told DH that I know if I need a color I need to just order it online, but.. the cream will be good for snow and such :)

Hey ladies!

I have never tried wool but was reading about the needle wallet swap....sorry it was cancelled but it looks like a blast! Can one of you share the pattern so I can do a practice run? Then maybe I can sign-when you try again.

Thank you!

Thank You, Laura - will definitely save and print this wonderful project.  Love anything patriotic and for it to be in wool, doubles my pleasure.  Happy 4th of July to all quilters on this forum!

Here is a Buttermilk Basin project free from Henry Glass fabrics. Stacy has a couple free patterns there if you search her name.
