Thanks Laura! I'm going to make that for next June's "Manna for Malawi" benefit for church. 4th of July crafts sell well there. |

Laura, thank you once again...Those Spirit of American quilts are really cute. I saved them all....looks like just the one is wool, but I saved the others, too. |

I couldn't locate the thread we were posting in for Buttermilk Basin's Live Each Season blocks, so I am posting the link for Block 11 here. Gets harder to find each month so resorted to a Google search LOL

So glad to be posting here under the Wooly Booger thread. Wool has been calling me for months but I wouldn't allow myself to 'play' until I got some serious finishes in. So 5-6 quilt finishes later, here I am. I am working on a wool candle mat with a honey bee theme. Time for some fuzzy FUN!

I have been working with wool more since my sewing room was being remodeled. I finished this recently to hang on the door to my sew room. And I am almost finished with my Let It Snow wallhanging that we had all started a couple of years back. I am on the last large snowman block. deciding on my next wooly project now. I truly enjoy the handwork and certainly did not think I would.

Thanks Ladies! I enjoyed making it and even though my room is now in the organizing phase, it is already on my door! it was the first thing to go up. Barb, Lord No, it is not my pattern. It was actually a kit from Buttermilk Basin. They are called “WORD” Door greeters and she has a series of them. All my things were packed away for so long, I thought a kit would be my best bet to get it accomplished. |

I had a very small goal of sewing down ONE hexagon per day on my candle mat knowing that this would get it finished during OCT. It was less than a lofty goal but I've just been nervous to finish it because it's not a pattern but something that is similar to what I've seen online. Thanks could go wrong so I stopped. Seemed to me if I went super slow, I could spot or prevent any problems as I went along. WELL, yesterday went so well that I got 4 hexes down and another one started. Fingers are cross that things continue to so as planned. It doesn't have to be perfect but I don't want it looking hideous either.
Looking forward to seeing indivual projects being shared here ( meaning if it's not already a quilt along )
:)
edited to add that I got about 1.5 hours of wool work done while we watched TV tonight. :) That's 1.5 hours closer to FINISHED. hahahha I had 3 hexes with beehives on them but decided they might look better with buttonhold stitches around them. So those are done and can be added to the mat. :D |

I've worked on my wool candle mat every day this week and even a bit of work in the evenings. I can't seem to put it down. House work and yard work are getting done but I'd rather have fuzzy fingers.
Chances are good that I will finish it in IA. Doubt I will leave it here unfinished and there's not enough time to finish it because we get a day with Jace. He comes tonight and will be gone by tomorrow around 5.
Anyone working with wool this week ???

Yep, in the evenings I'm working on my 24 flower blocks. Will post a photo when I've finished the first 6. Just a couple more hours...maybe tonight. |
