Please feel free to post requests here for prayers of Healing & Strength

Whatever you do, you need courage.

Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong.

There are always difficulties arising that tempt you to believe your critics are right.

To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires some of the same courage that a  soldier needs.

Peace has its victories, but it takes brave men and women to win them.

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul.

I would like to ask for prayers for a friend's son.  Leighann is actually a friend of my daughter Kate.  Her one year old son Michael was diagnosed with a hepatoblastoma on his liver at his one year check up.  He is currently undergoing chemotherapy.  This is his third treatment and the tumor is shrinking, but he has at least 2 more chemo treatments and then maybe surgery.  Big Mike is handling it like a champ though.  Prayers would be appreciated.

Prayers are being sent from my family to his.  I always feel so sad for the little ones.  I pray he will continue to do well.

Prayers for little Michael and his family.  May God bless them all.

Just a followup on Michael - his tumor has shrunk enough for surgery!  This is from his mom's post "We heard today that Michael's tumor shrank and he is ready for surgery! We still have some appointments and things to organize, but next step is getting that pesky tumor out! Stay tuned and thank you all for your support!"

Thank you for your prayers!

Wonderful news, Tess.  I hadn't seen the original post before, but so glad to hear that things are progressing well!  Prayer does work.

Another follow-up - Michael's surgery is scheduled for Tuesday.  About 60% of his liver will be removed along with his gall bladder.  Doctors said his liver will regenerate to about 90% in a month.  This is major surgery though, so prayers are welcome.

Tess, I'll uphold little Michael in my thoughts and prayers as he heads for surgery.  Such a big procedure for a tiny little baby, bless his heart!  Please keep us updated on his progress.

While I'm here, I'd like to ask for prayers for my next door neighbor Stan and his family as he has been placed on Hospice care.  He retired as an aerospace engineer at age 63 and 6 months later doctors discovered an orange size tumor on the left side of his brain.  It was cancerous and now a year and a half later he lays in his bed at home being given pain meds and comfort for his eventual passing.  I'm so upset and just can't understand why this happens to such a good, good person like Stan.

Oh my Gloria. Prayers going out to Stan and his family. ((HUGS)) It's hard to know why these things happen to such good people. Just know he will be in a better place soon. Free of worry and pain.

Keep a smile in your heart :) Dorian

Verla,So very saddened by your news, but the medical knowledge and new procedures today are incredible.   Prayers will be with you for sure.  Maybe we can all give REAL hugs at the retreat, but I send virtual{{{HUGS}}} right now.

What unsettling news, Verla! My prayers will indeed be with you as you meet with an oncologist and develop a plan of action. Please keep us updated.
