I am not proud of this but I am owning it, I have a "WORD" document that I've been keeping for my DJ journey.   Here is my first entry:

Nov 12, 2004

I just finished my first Jane Stickle block.  It was A-7 (Dad’s Plaids, 8 pieces) and it feels good to know I’m finally getting started on this quilt.  I bought the book in April and started collecting a few Civil War prints then and am currently swapping to increase my stash.  I intend to follow the colors that Jane used in the Trip Around the World format.  The larger the variety of fabrics in my quilt the happier I will be.   I did modify the pattern size slightly as the wedges were much larger than the ones Jane made for her block.  Mine are a tiny bit larger than Jane’s, but they are much smaller than the book called for.   I intend to make my blocks look as much like Jane’s as I can.  J     1,0,0,8

I want to start.  Every time I do something bad happens.  Maybe a leap year is time to do it.

I have seriously thought about doing a quilt as you go on Jane. How did you do it? Did you quilt each block or make a group of 4 or 16 blocks?

I finished block B-9 today.  It should have been done yesterday, but I changed blocks yesterday.  H-3 was giving me some issues, so I changed to a block that looked a bit easier.  I'll post a picture later when I can find my camera.

You go girl!   I need to get back to mine.   My hands are nearly normal..  they were so dry and cracked it was nearly impossible to do hand work.

I'm working on my next block which is all applique.  It's block H-2 and I'm working with orange.  I'm hoping to have it done by tomorrow.

Well, just realized that I've made two of my blocks incorrectly or not completely in the past.  I need to take one apart and turn some parts and the other I just need to add a few strips.  I'm hoping to rework those blocks during some easier blocks.

Veronica, your blocks are looking great and it is such fun watching as your chart fills.

Is anyone working on Jane this week?  I haven't worked on a block, yet, but hope to tonight.  I'm feeling under the weather, but I must get some things cleaned and a pincushion made.  Then I'll just lay on the couch or recliner with something from Netflix playing while I stitch a DJ block together.

GG, are you quilting a block?  Brenda, what block are you working on?

I am taking a super mini break from hand quilting jane so that I could finish the hand quilting on the buttermilk BOM.   I couldn't hand quilt both... between sore fingers and hurting my neck, I had to choose.    The good news is that I finished the wool quilting just a few minutes ago so tomorrow I can go right back to putting in time on Jane.     I'm not giving up either.   woohoo

I also think Brenda jumped in on her Austen project and has been putting the top together.  She just got her 36 blocks sashed.

February was not kind to my Dear Jane.  I haven't done a thing.  So, I'm hoping to be able to get back on track in March.  I'm finishing a customer quilt that is going in the mail today and then my sewing time is just for me.  I do have a couple other projects I want to work on, but I'll have time to devote to Jane, too.  I wonder if I can get 8 blocks done to get back on track...?

How are the rest of my Janiacs?  Anyone else get derailed?

Derailed about 3 states from destination.    I feel like I have worked hard but DJ didn't get any attention after the first 2 weeks of January.
