The news just said that hurricaine Dorian is the second largest storm to ever hit the U.S.  They are predicting it to come right up the east coast this week.  Many people will be without power, some for a long time.  Don't wait till the last minute to prepare, everything will be sold out.  Get batteries, flash lights, candles,  lots of water, fill the bathtub with water to flush with.  Make sure your prescriptions are filled, fill thermos's with coffee.  Keep you phone charged as long as you can.  There are so many things you can do to make it a little easier but you have to start before supplies are gone.  Have a plan if you have to leave your house.  Have a plan for your pets.  Write down all the important phone numbers you will need if you can't use your electronic phone books.  And hope it goes out to sea and misses us.

All of you in the path of Dorian are in my prayers. Lets all pray it goes out to sea or abates somewhat, so it's not so bad.

This waiting around is worse than that the actual storm I think.  Some who evacuated early are racking up enormous bills at hotels, they cannot come home due to the fact that the moment they do Dorian will start to move again.

I know I am trying to be light right now in a serious situation, but I think Dorian has decided it was time to take a vacation in the Bahamas.  One of the satilite photos show a large portion of Freeport to be completely under water.  I do not know how much more the people of Freeport can endure.  Roofs are coming off, ceilings collapsing in, debris everywhere, and no power.  Prayers to all of them!!!

We are currently being told we should feel Dorian around 3am and into the day tomorrow.  Will try to keep you all informed as I know what is up.

Thank you everyone for the thoughts and prayers, all of us affected by Dorian truly appreciate them!!

My sewing machine is calling me and today I hope to listen! Sally

Thankfully for us, Hurricane Dorian was nice to us!  We ended up with some rain, a bit of wind and only had four RV's with some minor damage.  All in all, we were ready for this one.  There is supposedly another one building up, but still to early to know where it is going.  We have decided to leave most of the windows blocked at this time.

It is the height of the hurricane season and being prepared is the best.

Dorian is now between Daytona and Jacksonville, so when Jann can let us know how she faired I am sure she will.  Still watching the tv about the damages in the Bahamas and cannot believe there were not more fatalities.  That was devestating how Dorian just stalled over the Freeport area.

Again thank you for all the thoughts, prayers, pm's and texts....they meant the world to me!!!

I am still thinking of all my quilting friends on here that may themselves be effected or their loved ones.

It really effects all of us that care about you.

Hugs and more Hugs.

We had wind and rain but nothing bad and no damage near us.  I am so thankful.  Living in a mobile home can be very scarey when these storms come near.  Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.

Leah, I did see this update from Jann:

Update on Dorian:  I sandbagged the pool, and got the generator ready to go.  My oungest son helped get up all the storm shutters.  We are totally prepared.  And over the course of the past few days we have gone from a direct hit to almost a non-event.  So far just a little rain and winds that don't count much (no trees down yet).  we do have the rest of the day but it doesn't look like it will make much waves on us.  we are so lucky.
