Three Yard Quilt Swap

Here's how it will work: sign up, get partnered up and each of you sends the other - TWO yards and then each of you takes the 2 yards you received and adds a 3rd yard and turns it into a top.    What fabric is choosen or the pattern you used will be up to the maker and will be a surprise.

Fabrics used should be quilt shop quality and prewashed before mailing or using.

You can not be in the briar patch and must make WEEKLY check ins to stay out of it.  ;)

To sign up, post your interest and send me a pm with your QATW nickname, real life name, address, phone number and email address.  Remember this is a direct swap, so only those who have met the requirements of two centralized swaps and three or more months membership are eligible to join.

Signs up are going to be QUICK, and the sewing time extending because you may have to buy a yard to go with the 2 you receive so we will allow  LITTLE extra time.

Sign ups Open 7/6  close 7/20

Partners assigned by 7/21 end of day - then

Mail 2 fabrics by - 8/3

Mail completed top by - 9/3   International - 8/26

My sewing machine is calling me and today I hope to listen! Sally

Maybe you have a focus fabric that you just have not had an idea of what pattern to make with it.  Maybe you have a baby quilt you need in a few months.  Maybe you just want a nice surprise.

Well this swap is for you!  It will be so much fun to send some fabric and receive a top back all ready to layer and quilt.  Jump in and have some fun with us!

Here are some links for free patterns!  If anyone else has more links, please feel free to add them here!

Yes Dorian, you do use all three yards of fabric.  There may be a bit of it left, but usually not much.  Check out some of the links that I just posted and you will have an idea of what we are doing.

Yes send a pm.  I am updating that to be in the intro.  I opened this swap at 4am, when I could not sleep and unfortunately, I forgot that important part!  LOL

We should be using "3 yard Patterns" which would use all or most.  There are lots out there for FREE and some you can look at and figure out the pattern too.

:)

I would love to be able to take part...but, since I'm having knee surgery in August and sure my sewing will be limited I'll have to pass. But I will be keeping track of this swap and wishing.

Mimi,  I would so love to participate, but the timing of this is terrible for me... I am going to be in Illinois at the end of July, then off on a long planned quilt cruise to Alaska for 10 days 3 days after I get back from Illinois.

This is a swap I would definitely join, can you host it again later?  I will be lurking and can't wait to see what you all come up with!

OK OK OK

you had me at hello lol

I have a very minimal stash, but I found some material I had from at least 8 years ago, 3 yards of 2 and 1 1/2 of 2. I will be using one of the 3 yard cuts for a back, so it works out perfectly.

so I guess you can say I am in! PM to follow.

Welcome aboard all!!!

There is still time for more to join us!  Everyone needs a quick little project, one that works up fast and easy!  These little three yard quilts make great little sofa quilts, baby quilts or just a great little gift to have on hand for one of those last minute showers or parties!
