This quilt wasn't on the list for June, but since it returned from the long armer last week, I decided to use it for my finish for June.  This was the Mineral Matrix BOM that I completed piecing a couple of months ago.  I spent the last couple of days making the binding and getting it on the quilt, so ta da.  This measures 103 X 106 and is intended to be a wedding gift for my grandson and his fiancee in November.  First time I've been ahead of the game.

uspalady, beautiful quilt.  The colors are what my grandson & wife will be getting in Jan.

I have one granson getting married in Oct. and making a bed quilt in their favorite colors (red and blue). Another grandson getting married married in Jan. & she would like a lap quilt in neutral colors, so will make one for her and one for him.

How can your grandson be old enough to be getting married?  Congrads

That is a beautiful gift for them.

My oldest grandson is almost 21...sure makes me seem older than I feel most days.  I think 70 is the new 40, but my knees tell me differently.

My 12 are some flying geese blocks. I have 10 so one might become an orphan.

Mona - when you have 10 you can surround 2 other block and then have 12 for a 3 x 4 pattern.  Makes the quilt a little larger  even if the 2 you surround are plain fabric and just get quilted or a small panel block of geese or birds would work also.

Woo Hoo, I finally get to post a finish... My #12, QATW Chinese Lanterns, is completed and gifted to my boss whose last day is Friday :( .  One of the most wonderful people I have had the pleasure to know... Photos are in the gallery, I have no idea how to get them in this post.

Pardon the orientation.  This Elk quilt has been on the back burner for over 5 years.  I was afraid I lost the pattern during the move to our new house but I found it.  I added the top border and now working on the bottom boarder.....then maybe a couple non-pieced borders then can finish appliquing the antlers.  They over lay several borders.....I love batiks.  Only a week left this month but it will have some progress all the same!!

Verla, Thank you for the info. I’ll see if I can figure out something.
