If you are New to chatting or haven't been very often, here is a picture of the bottom of the chatroom and I've circled an area with icons.  After the picture,  I will give brief explanations.

The smiley face will bring up a box of icons you can click on to use in your messages posted in the chat room.  Like a smiley, a heart, a star, a cat and so much more.

Next to that is a SPEAKER,  if you see waves in front of it, then you have chat sounds turned on.  If you ever click on it, the waves will go away and so will the sound.  You only have to click on it to turn it back on.

Next to that is a COG or GEAR and if you click on it,  you can do lots of things.  One is to select an avatar that you will be seen as, while you chat.  In the photo, you can see a chatter using a tropical island.  We often change many of them out depending on the season.  Right now we have some Winter ones to go with the standard sewing machines, cats and such but by Spring, we'll have tulips and bunnies to choose from.

Next up is the PAPER CLIP and with this, you can attach a photo for folks to view.  Please make sure it is a small pic or it will stretch the screen.   Once you've used it a time or two, you'll find out what size pics work the best.

Last is the EXITING through the Door icon and it is MOST important.  When you use this to leave, it completely removes you from the list of chatters.   If you don't and exit by closing down the window/session with the "X" in the corner or use  " SHUT DOWN " for your computer, you may leave but your 'shadow' remains in the list of chatters.    So if Becky was off cutting some fabric and came back to chat, she would still see you in the list of chatters even though you are gone.  PLEASE use this exit when you have finished chatting.

Hey Thanks GG, for the explanations of the icons on the bottom of the chat screen. I had NO idea I should use the exit door when I leave. I'll do so from now on :)

Keep a smile in your heart :) Dorian
