I am nearly finished Matthew's Cars quilt.  Stitching down the binding now.  I would have had this finished and gifted to him yesterday, except I was sick with whatever stomach bug was going around last week and missed a day of work that I had to make up this past week.  Took a day away from my sewing.

The way to get started is to quit talking and start doing.

I know it doesn't count, since it's the wrong form of fiber, but I did finish the UFO I was working on all month, a knitted sweater.  It's only 6 years since I started it. So

Very pretty, Verla.  Love how  you surrounded the trees.  Very clever.

To all of those who have offered suggestions for the problems with the thread breaking on my machine...I have replaced the darning plate (I found a burr where the thread goes through) and it seems to be working much better.  The thread still breaks occasionally, but not frustratingly as it was.  I was able to get that blasted quilt off the frame and now just need to do the binding.  I expect to make the binding and get it on the quilt on New Year's Day as everyone else (except hubby and I) will probably be hungover and staying at home.  I don't think I'll have any grand kids next week either, just a couple of VA appointments for hubby, so maybe I can get another one loaded on the machine and see if it will work better.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

Chelle, I just added two items to my list for December UFOs for 2018.  I know it's late in the month, but I finished #17, a QAYG Table Topper, 33 x 33.  Had to add the borders and add batting to them since the center portion was already quilted as you go.  I added those borders and made and applied the binding today.  It is finished.  I have one more - hoping for one more finish.  #18 is the Medallion Round Robin done here on QATW.  I am going to add a border or two and sandwich/baste, quilt and bind, hopefully before the end of tomorrow, which will be 12/31/18, end of year.  These may not count for the UFO challenge, though I did add them to my list, but at least I'll have two more UFOs finished and can move on to what I want to do in 2019.

edit to add picture of QAYG table topper 33 x 33

THANK YOU, CHELLE, FOR HEADING THIS UP AND KEEPING US ON TRACK.  WHEW!!!  COULDN'T HAVE BEEN EASY FOR YOU TO KEEP UP WITH ALL OF THESE CHARTS!!!!
