It's been just over a year since I last touched Dear Jane.  I am hoping to get projects taken care of this week so I can bring her out and set her up as my go to hand project.  I won't have a lot of time to work on it, but warmer weather is coming which means park days with the kids.  I love to have something to take with me to work on while the kids play.  I've tried to bring books, but the girls interrupt me ALL THE TIME.

So, who is ready to get back to Jane?

Last night I pulled out my Jane blocks and chart and spent a good bit of time updating and organizing.  Since this is all being hand sewn, I'm working on getting it set up as my grab and go project.  I'm trying to figure out the best way to set it up.  I'm realizing that I need to have the book or a copy of the block to bring with me.

The first block for 2017 that I will be working on is G-12.

2016 was the last time I touched my Dear Jane.. and during that year I only quilted ' 3 ' blocks. GULP.  I am going to do better in 2019.  I can't keep my quilt in a bag for ever.   My goal it to kick start 2019 with a Janiacs in January quilt along.  It will be HUGE!!!   So if you have a DJ collecting dust or sitting in the dark, you might want to find it..

Excellent!  I'll finish out this year strong with quilts and Christmas projects and then get Dear Jane ready to work on.  Actually, it is ready; I just haven't brought it out.

I've worked on DJ twice. First in Civil War fabrics and later in colors I disliked. I gave away the first blocks and scraps the. Used the second set of blocks in other projects. I think I'd love this done in 30's fabrics. They make everything better. I certainly learned a lot with the blocks I made.

EB, not sure if you have seen V's dj but her's is done in 30s.

I'm using the remainder of 2018 to get some UFOs knocked out.  I know I can finish 4 other quilts.  Then when 2019 arrives,  I will dig out my DJ and get back on it.   No way I can finish it in a month ( or even 3 )  but I can't let that stop me.

Pretty sure this quilt had over 5,000 pieces...  and I love the history behind the original.   They don't allow us to take pictures but I'm going to see it this month.

I recently bought the book. Will decide what fabrics I will use before the new group starts in 2019. I have a pony club quilt to work on along side DJ.

I have no idea where mine is.  It's in a box somewhere.  I hope to find it after I get moved and unpacked.  I would like to work on it next year.  I don't remember how many blocks I have made but not nearly half.  Perhaps if I make a bargain with myself to do one or two a week, by the end of year I'd come pretty close to being done.

I have a busy year scheduled with customer quilts but I am hand piecing all the blocks.  My plan is to get this set up and ready to go as my hand work project and my to-go project.  I will need to take some time to set up my blocks so they're ready.

I sure don't need another long-term project on my listdoh , but I'm going to start one of these.nervous Working on obtaining the book. Don't currently have a computer, so not getting the CD, but looks like it is helpful to have the set of rulers with smaller measurements?

I used to have a handle on life, but it fell off.

When I last worked on my Dear Jane, I actually very neatly set it up in a to-go bag to work on while out and about.  I have the next 6 blocks marked, fabric partially cut, and sewing supplies all ready to work on when I can.  I'm ready for the new year!

I actually sewed a couple seams in the next block for a head start.
