THANKS for the heads up!
I went into store and got a 25 yard roll...

Hubby & son agreed on the savings making sense...they know I have many quilt tops that need to be finished!

Shoot, I read this last evening and assumed it was a heads-up for today. Went running in as they opened the doors this morning and then realized my mistake.

I'm really surprised they had two big rolls of Warm & Natural partially used. Why wouldn't someone have purchased the entire roll as I do on the rare opportunities that I get a good coupon?

Knowing they will be clearing W&N out soon, I will need to keep my eyes peeled.

If you have not signed-up for Quilt in a Day aily Deal email, (Eleanor Burns') it hasgreat deals  Among the recent items for 50% or more off were recent speciality rulers (including BlocLoc), wool mats, wool precuts (5" & 10") cutting mats, rotary cutter blades, Karen Kay Buckley scissors, patterns, precuts, 505 spray, thread (including Aurifil) and lots of other sewing-related items.  Her shipping is very reasonable and the amount of free shipping is also low.  Sometimes there are also a freebie included.

Dorian, the flyer that came in the mail says all batting is 40% off. What offer are you seeing?

I'm looking at the March 14-27th one, it says 3 Day Sale, save up to 60%.

Here is a link to the batting.

I ended up ordering a 40-yd bolt of Warm & Natural from Amazon - a bit cheaper than Joann's 60% off.

While on the Warm Co. site, I read about Warm & Plush - 50% more cotton for a warmer, heavier quilt. Has anyone used that?

Interesting question, Nancy.  Funny thing is that I have warm & plush but have never used it in a quilt.   It is the only batting I use for microwave bowls since it has no scrim.  So, of course, I had to go take a closer look and compare it to the warm and natural.  It is almost twice as thick!  In addition, there is no 'dirty' side like W&N making it a better choice for quilts with a lighter colored background.

I have not seen warm & plush. Thats what I need, DH says my quilts are not thick enough.. I think he thinks thicker equals warmer, I tried to explain the difference between poly and cotton batting, just does not get it. I guess I need to try this one, what ever makes him happy.

Ill have to check out that batting too! I put two layers in my quilts if I don’t have a heavy backing like minky or fleece.

I, too, was looking at the warm and plush, wondering how it was... I hope someone here has used it.

Nancy, sounds like you got a great deal!

For years and years I would buy the prepacked batting during National quilting day week at hobby lobby..  stocking up for most of the year but once I started buying batting by the roll, I saw just how much I was wasting in those prepackaged..    It's so nice to roll off JUST what I need.

I also got 2 yards off the roll for half price of the 70% off price because the edge was dirty .. Like maybe 4".    WIll be nice for wall hangings or what ever...

:)

GG,, I used to do the same thing.  I'd buy the king size ones and cut them up as needed.  Then, one day, Fred bought me a 30 yard roll of batting, and I still have lots of it left.  I also bought another 20 yard roll that Joann's had a special on.  I do love just being able to roll off what I need and cover the roll back up.

I bought the 10yrds of batting. It's the first time I've ever bought more than a package at a time, so I am pretty excited .... people need to have these sales in the summer months when my husband is working ;) LOL
