What made your perfect block, not so perfect?

My doctor said I need more fiber, so I went to the fabric shop.

It was a perfect bear paw block, points are right, it measures the right size, the seams all line up and the back is nice.  What could go wrong?  Well, that little 2 1/2" piece in the middle is the wrong fabric.

My doctor said I need more fiber, so I went to the fabric shop.

Oh NO

I did not do that but since my fabric for the paws is a one way fabric I turned one of blocks for the paws and sewed the rest of the block pressed and put it on the design board to display and oops UGH noticed my mistake so off to unstick I go......

Here is my PAW story.   I found a background piece and went to town making the block.. didn't bother precutting all the needing pieces just started sewing..  I get all the way down to needing the 4 corners of background fabric.. 2.5" squares and I only have enough fabric left to cut 3.     Yeppers,  one little bitty 2.5" square short...   but I had smaller scrapes and sewed 2 pieces together and cut a 2.5" from it.   It is fine enough to go in my quilt but I had to bite my lip.   LOL

(directional fabric  - I grabbed the wrong paw once and saw it was going to be in the wrong direction but luckily I was able to turn my block and sew it on and it still work. So what started out being the left of the block, ended up being the top.  Not sure how to describe but I lucked out... barely )

I sewed the red to the orange's spot and the orange to the red's spot.  Fortunately, most people who've seen the quilt don't even notice.  This pic's not the best, but the error is in there.
