Sharon, that’s beautiful work that you do for the food pantry. Hard on our old bodies but so good for our hearts. I was always shocked when I had students who hadn’t eaten over the weekend. My parents were poor but we never went hungry. Sadly there’s lots of homeless families that shuffle from place to place. A friend’s son and DIL both work but don’t make enough money to buy necessities. Their last rent house was sold and they were forced to move out. With not enough money for a deposit they were homeless. They went from friend to friend to sleep and finally moved in with his mother. They’s In their late 40’s with health issues and no insurance. Their medicines take up a big portion of their income. So sad and little future hope.

That is sad, Evelyn.  So many people are deemed homeless with just the same situation as your friend's loved ones.  Many of our homeless are travelling from home to home, couch to couch, cars. And the no insurance is such a scary thing.

today will be like yesterday, I'm shooting for quilting ' a bit ' on my December UFO and working on instructions for a swap block I'll host in January if it gets approval.   I might need a pal to make a test block...

GG, I'm in a holding pattern until my fabric arrives on Tuesday (in transit 11 days, sheez...) so I'm free to test a block today and Monday if you're ready with it. I'll send a PM.

So far I have only drafted the block in EQ8, let me see how it suggests folks CUT the needed pieces.. if I can get that looking right, I can send you a copy of it...  if not... I need to label each piece of the block and write the sizes you need.   Will hollar as soon as I have something to try.

I just finished the quilting for the Bear Paw Quilt  Trimmed it all and have the binding made and now I'm going to machine bind it!  SEW excited to do that and put it through the washer and dryer.  I'm going to make one of those machine embroidered applique blocks with the Bear on it and incorporate it into the label I put on the back.  I can be doing that while the quilt is in the washer/dryer.

What a great feeling Sharon! I just put a label on a quilt for a friend. So happy to see it move on to its new home and owner....

Woohoo Sharon, can't wait to see your bear.

The only sewing I got done today was I started whip stitching a sleeve on the back of the fabric wreath I made. It reaaalllly hurts my hand to do this, so I have to do a little at a time. I need to finish it tomorrow though, so that I can mail on Tues.

Keep a smile in your heart :) Dorian
