I finished another UFO. That means 3 done this summer. That means I can start a new one! After I clean up the other messes. (And I am still working on other UFOs).

Very nice Florence! I love your flying geese border.

Yes Agnes, not many people saw the Northcott one as Jess asked me to test it and I couldn't show it for awhile... or something..

Keep a smile in your heart :) Dorian

I finished quilting and binding the Sunflower quilt for my DDIL and am now working on a cloth "Busy/Quiet Book"  for my DGS. You can see it HERE at this site. I'm following an old Vogue pattern, using some more modern fabrics.  I had saved lots of material to make this when my kids were young but never took the time to actually do it.  So far so good. The cover page is finished and I hope to finish page 2 after dinner tonight.  Then only 8 more pages to go. I'm going to ask DH to help with the eyelets.

Mimi, how cute that pattern is.  You say it is an old Vogue pattern..How old???  This is the cutest idea and I would love to make one or more for my daughter's 1st grade classroom.  Would this be too young for them?  Many are actually not ready for 1st grade, but trying to settle in? This might be a good quiet time for the ones not ready to do the work the others are doing?   I also have a DGGD who is 14 months old...what a fun thing this would be to make for Lidiya.

Well I'd say very, very old considering my daughter will be 38 in about a month.

I recently found and bought a complete pattern on ebay b/c I had lost some of the original pattern pieces in the moves we made over the years. But I paid a pretty penny for it.  I think the book would be good for 2 to 5 year olds.  It teaches buttoning, zipping, lacing, buckling, etc.

Thanks, Mimi.  I'll have to check it out.  I DO love the sweetness of this book...so many awesome textures and colors..fabrics..Maybe I'll get lucky.  Many of these 1st graders are from poor and ethnic families, they are struggling just to have their children have an education.  I will watch for this pattern.
