Nothing happening in the sewing room today. My dd and I escaped the boys and went to a quilt show . It was a small show, but nice. Then we hit the library and the used book store.  A nice day :)

Keep a smile in your heart :) Dorian

We just finished my new sewing studio. We put a shed up in the backyard and spent this week putting in insulation, taping, painting, trim, and putting in the flooring.  Phil put a propane heater on the wall and I started moving stuff in today. I still need to move my sewing table and machine. It will take me a few days to get organized, but it will be so nice! Since my granddaughter move in with me I had no guest room, so now I do.

I am the curator of an extensive private textile collection.

Congratulations Gail on your new sewing room.

TN Mt Girl...I love your She Shed!!  I just showed my hubby your picture and asked him if I could have one when we move into the Guyson House and he just gave me a little giggle.  Little does he know that I'm seriously going to look into this possibility, lol!!

That's so wonderful Gail! I am totally envious (in a happy way though ). I hope you will share a photograph with us of the inside when you are settled.

Jen, I remember when you were building your shed. We were on another site at the time, I can't believe it's been 4 years.

Going to make my 3 blue cream and brown blocks today, then finish putting the last 2 rounds on the 10 log cabin blocks I have started.  Then putting those and the other 8 already finished ones aside and getting out the Big Brown Bear blocks and putting sashing on them.

Thanks Bonita....yes it has been 4years since I retired, it's hard to believe, where did that time go?? CV...thank you, it has changed a little since this picture was taken, I have added a recliner...lol!

Here's a picture of my latest quilting project. This is a quilt made by my LQS, I was asked to quilt it for them because my frame was big enough to do this very large quilt.

What a cool Christmas quilt!  Love the vintage trucks.  Yes, I noticed you had a couple of LAs.  Wonderful space.

I need to get a small quilt quilted so I can get a wallhanging quilted.  Right now its a laid back day as we are going to San Francisco to a concert tonight.

Love the idea of a shed. Inspirational photos. When Mom moved in with us, we quickly realized we needed a handicapped bathroom. The contractor suggested adding another living area to the back of the housebeside the bathroom. The bathroom was going to be very expensive but the other room was much less costly. My sweet husband suggested we build a sewing room! We installed built in cabinets that used to hold all my fabric but the more space available, the more I bought. I had a long arm in there but after three years I realized the only one enjoying it was the cat. She sat on the top acting like queen of the house. With a shed, the mess would be hidden when company arrives. Mine has large glass French doors viewed from the front entrance. It’s amazing that my house can be totally spotless but my sewing room is totally trashed. I love having multiple projects going at the same time and am bad about not putting fabrics away. Nowadays I am less concerned about my mess being seen by company. Life is too short and my mess makes me happy. When my sewing room is clean, I’m less likely to sew.

Today I am crocheting potholders to go with kitchen towels for a women’s shelter. My fabrics for the bench pillow swap should arrive tomorrow. I ordered three groups of fabrics. Swaps are a good excuse to shop! So I need to do a bit of organizing to be ready to start.

Just finished making a cardboard template for the Lucy Boston empty squares. I want to use variegated thread to stitch the outline of the block. Hope it works, I hate picking.
